--Dues FAQs--

How can I pay dues in Japan?
At any of Japan's post offices, using the pre-printed furikae yoshi (pay form) which we will send to you (please contact the Membership Secretary if you do not have one yet). Just fill out the form with your name, address and telephone number in “romaji” (Roman alphabet letters; please don’t write in kanji) and present it to the postal clerk with your money. Furikae yoshi payments can also be made at some post office ATMs.

Are there alternative methods for paying dues?
Yes, you may also make a bank transfer (Mitsubishi Tokyo UFJ Bank), send your dues via insured mail for cash (genkin kakitome) directly to the treasurer, or pay the treasurer in person. See your Journal for bank account information or

How much are dues?
Dues are 7,000 yen per year.

To what do my dues entitle me?
• Six Journals per year and the Membership Directory*
• Participation in any district or national activities. (Additional fees may be required.)
*Extra postage is required for overseas members who would like to receive their journals by air mail.
(2,000 yen per year for air mail, sea mail is included in the basic membership)

How do I pay my dues from overseas?
You may pay by Yen-denominated International Money Order, available at your local post office, or by bank transfer: for more bank account and additional information about paying dues from overseas.

When is the deadline for payment of dues?
All memberships expire on December 31. Payment for the following year is due by October 15. (Ex: Membership for 2008 expires on December 31, 2008. The deadline for payment of membership dues for 2009 is October 15, 2008.)

What happens if my dues payment is late?
If you miss the October 15 deadline, your membership will lapse.

Can I use my credit card?
Unfortunately, we cannot accept dues payments by credit card at this time.
