| --Events
and Activities--
Members organize various activities: workshops, lectures, book
discussions, luncheons, playgroups for members' children, coffee
mornings at a member's house etc. You can do all kinds of creative
organizing and be a leader yourself. Of course there are times in
your life when you can’t do as much, but AFWJers have so many
talents to share.
Annually, a national three-day convention is held. This weekend
meeting, held in a different area of Japan each year, is a great
way to establish friendships and meet members from other Districts.
Districts sometimes also hold their own mini-conventions as well.
AFWJ sponsors several e-mail groups that members are entitled to
join. Their topics range from health issues to parenting to politics.
There are also regional groups for different districts or areas.
This is a list of our current e-groups.

"Coming to Japan
at the age of 47, I did find it lonely, but when AFWJ was started
I found that I could make many friends, not only locally, but all
over Japan.
My husband and I love the Journal, and he is always amazed how clever
the Editor, and contributors are. It is worth belonging to AFWJ,
just for the Journal, and to read the AFWJ femail e-mails every
day, they contain a wealth of information."
